Virginia City Highlands is a community located just north of Virginia City, Nevada. The land that makes up the community was purchased by the Curtis-Wright Corporation in 1957 for the purpose of testing rockets. In 1971, the land was sold, becoming a sanctuary for wild horses with housing being built there a year later.
